Handmade صمود (sumud) pendants are here! Sumud means steadfastness in its most basic translation, but really, there is no one word in English that explains everything this word represents. It is an important word for Palestinians everywhere. I made these as a fundraiser to help people directly effected by the genoc!de happening in Palestine. The cost does not reflect a retail cost and the 14k gold version is especially affordable. I priced them this way so that ANY profit above the cost of casting in precious metal goes to Palestine. They come in solid sterling silver or solid 14k yellow gold, and the design was hand carved by myself. Be aware that due to the size, only certain chains will fit through the bail. The pendant alone is $40 in silver or $200 in 14k gold (option to add a sterling silver chain coming soon!). Of that $40 or $200, $30 or $80 respectively will go directly to our family in Gaza who have been displaced, injured, starved, and disheartened. The price as well as the donated amount will fluctuate with the market price of silver and gold.  If you would like to donate separately, you can do so HERE! Local pickup is available in Providence.

There is so much to tell about the people that you will be supporting, but I’m not even sure where to start. We are not blood relatives, but since long before this conflict they have welcomed me into their lives and virtually into their homes. We consider each other family and I talk to them daily when possible. They have added so much to my life and I can only hope to be able to help them in return. Your order will contain one sterling silver OR gold pendant as seen in the photos (based on your oder). Due to the bespoke nature of the process, slight variations will naturally occur. Please allow up to eight weeks for completion as each piece is made to order and will be uniquely yours.

Please note, a chain is NOT included for sterling silver OR gold.

Materials

Most of our products are solid sterling silver or 14k yellow gold. Product descriptions will state the materials used for the individual product listed. We can also accomodate many other material requests such as 10k or 18k gold as special orders. Please reach out with any questions.

Care Instructions

We suggest removing our jewelry for anything other than normal wear. During any strenuous activities such as swimming or other sports, wearing the jewelry will be at your own risk. Various factors such as sweat, chemicals, and dirt can effect your pieces.

For most of our sterling silver products, we add a patina and then finish the high spots to leave the recesses darkened. Sterling will naturally develop more patina and character over time depending on factors such as skin contact, burnishing, and natural wear. We suggest not to use any abrasives or solutions besides warm soapy water.

For any solid gold products, you can clean the jewelry from time to time in warm, soapy water. Gold will not develop a patina the same way silver will.

Shipping & Returns

Processing times for orders can vary greatly. Some pieces we may have in stock and can ship right away. This will generally be mentioned in a product's description. Most other items will be made to order and can take anywhere from two to eight weeks, depending on complexity, time of year, and other various delays. If you are curious about a specific piece or have a deadline you need it by, please contact us.

Once an order is shipped, you will recieve an email with a tracking number that will offer an estimated arrival date.
